What we check
HTTPS and certificate
Does your site load over https with a valid certificate? Does http redirect to https? And does the address work both with and without www?
Call and WhatsApp buttons
Are your call links in international format (tel:+31…)? Do WhatsApp links contain a valid number with country code, without a 0 or (0) in it?
Email links
Does every email link open a valid address, and not, for example, an address with a typo or a template example address?
Form
Is there a contact or quote form on the homepage or contact page, and does it have a handler? We only look; we never submit anything.
Filler and template text
Is there still Latin dummy text from a template, or an example address such as example.com, that visitors should not see?
Internal links and basics
Up to 25 links to your own site: do they return a 404? Plus the homepage status code, the page title and the meta description.
Every finding shows the exact link or text we found, so you or your web developer can find it quickly.
What this check does not do
- It fills in no form and submits nothing, not even a test message.
- It does not store the address you enter or the result. The result is only shown on your screen.
- It asks for no name, email address or phone number, and you will not get any email from us.
- It only looks at the homepage, one contact page (if there is one) and up to 25 internal links. Content that is only loaded by JavaScript is not visible to it.
To prevent abuse we briefly count how many checks come from one connection. This happens only in working memory, using an unreadable code instead of your IP address, and is gone after 10 minutes. See also our privacy statement.
Frequently asked questions about the website check
Is the website check really free?
Yes. The check costs nothing and you do not have to enter a name, email address or phone number.
You will not get any email or offer from us afterwards either, because we do not know who ran the check.
What exactly does the website check look at?
HTTPS and certificate, with and without www, the homepage status code, call, WhatsApp and email links, forms, filler text and up to 25 internal links.
We look at the homepage and, if there is one, one contact page. Every finding shows the exact link or text we found.
Does the check send anything through my contact form?
No. The check only looks at whether there is a form and whether it has a handler. Nothing is filled in or submitted.

Why is a broken call or WhatsApp button a problem?
A customer who taps the button on their phone gets no connection or a wrong number, and often calls another company instead.
On a computer this goes unnoticed, so such an error can last a long time. A small change to the link usually fixes it.
Is the result always complete?
No. It is a quick, automatic check with limits; a finding is a pointer, not a verdict.
Content that is only loaded by JavaScript is not visible to the check, and some sites refuse automated requests. So check a finding yourself on your phone.
